Have ancestry from the British Isles? Wondering why those pesky ethnicity estimates are confusing and show you are from a lot of places you were sure there was no connection to? Well, there is a reason for that, and we are going to explore the great big jumble of ethnicity results and genetic genealogy for the Islands.
Biography:
Dr. Shannon Combs-Bennett QG, MSc, FSAScot, is an award-winning author who resides in Northern Virginia. From there, she writes and presents various topics across the US and internationally, from genetic genealogy to methodology techniques. Shannon is on the boards of directors of APG and the Guild of Genealogy Speakers, in addition to serving as a Trustee for ISBFHG. She earned her Bachelor of Science in biology with an emphasis in genetics from Indiana University and her Master of Science in Genealogic, Heraldic, and Paleographic Studies from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Shannon is a doctoral candidate in History and Genealogical Studies at the University of Strathclyde, researching the correlations between genealogy and lineage societies in the United States.
